Newton System Updates

					I recently placed a call to Apple asking about how one can get system software updates for the Newton 110 message pad.  The tech rep gave me two answers.  You can always download the updates from an online service like AOL and eWorld.  Did you know that Apple has their own dedicated Newton System Updates line?  The tech rep gave me instructions on how to get system updates directly to your Newton via an Apple (Newton) Fax Modem.  
			
																							System Enhancement Directions

1. Tap on the Extras button.
2.  Tap on the In Box.
3.  Tap on the Receive button.
4.  Tap on the Enhancement button.
5.  Plug in your Modem and attach it to a line out. 
6. The phone number is 1-800-NEWTON-9 (1-800-639-8669).
7.  Your Newton will connect and automatically download the latest update.
8.  Your Newton will ask you to tap the restart button presented on the screen.
9.  Your NewtonÕs system software is now up to date.  
10.  Tap the Extras button.
11.  Tap on Prefs.
12. You should notice that the system revision number at the bottom center has changed.  For ROM 1.3  the latest system revision is (344311) as of January 21, 1995.
